Travelling for as a child was very exciting. The idea of travelling in a train, gorging on home cooked and packed food on the train, playing cards, songs, reading a book lying on that topmost berth with no disturbances and at times exchanging berth with my brother for a window seat is what I clearly cherished. Making some friends also happened but that friendship was short lived. As I grew up my concept of 'travelling' changed, mode of transport changed, destinations where I travel have changed. As I recall, I was never a travel loving person, the idea of leaving my comfort zone-my home and going to a place where I was aware that it won't be like home made it a little less appealing but once there I loved being with family.
Recently I got an opportunity to travel for work and it was in beautiful Netherlands or also known as Holland. A place of flat terrain, well known for beautiful canals and horticulture, surprisingly the most tallest men are from this country. I visited Delft and this was a 'gem', a small town but very beautiful and classic. Home to Johannes Vermeer, a famous painter (1632-1675), Anotnie van Leeuwehnoek-father of Microbiology-being a Microbiologist, I regret being unable to see Leeuwenhoek display in the Oude Kerk, Delft. I thoroughly enjoyed the visual treat of famous Delft art - blue painting on white clay. Not claiming about capturing entire beauty of Delft but hoping that you all will love whatever I have shared...a pictorial treat for you.
